Goodbye
Goodbye
is a poem I promised myself
I'd never write again, too painful,
but it keeps on sneaking across these pages,
drying the ink as I write.
Katy, as I passed your place
I heard you laugh,
I thought I saw you
pass by an upstairs window.
I was giving up, after one last night,
but I turned and wandered back
hoping to frame your face.
I remember I threw you a kiss
and thought it must have missed you.
