Poems Burn If They Will

Poems burn if they will;

A night to please fire, eyes

Madly dancing,

For he must just now

Own his old ideas

In some new way;

Compost the food of a star

For freedom.

Fragile and crisp,

They burned if they did.

Capricious and madcap,

He wrote on and on.

Sometimes, obtained relief

Through divine ordination

Sometimes a girl said

Just her smile, growing

Another star

In his backyard.

It will shine if it will.
